"Super" Sunday
2/5/2010 3:47:01 PM

This week (2/7/10) is the Super Bowl. You probably knew that...or, you don't care to know it. Either way it doesn't change anything. We had already scheduled a Celebration Service for this Sunday evening at 4 PM. It was scheduled before we learned that this week was Super Sunday (honestly!). So, what does that mean for you? It means that we will gather for our Celebration Service at 4 PM, as we do every quarter, and there will be no Prayer Peeting or Forte at 6 PM. It also means that you are invited to Pastor Doug's annual Super Bowl party...just bring food to share.

Adopt-A-Room
1/8/2010 2:13:06 PM

We need your help. The more we use the building, the more it needs to be cleaned. Would you, and your family, be willing to adopt a room (or two) at the Church and clean it twice a month? Two families may get together and volunteer to clean the larger rooms. If we all pitch in, we can make sure our building shows that we believe God and His worship and His service are important to us.

If you are willing to adopt a room, please see Diane Breton. What's that? You want to sign up online? Use the Feedback Form on the
Contact Us page.

Please
register online or use the tear off portion of the weekly printed bulletin to register.

Quarter Books for Lighthouse Children's Homes
12/11/2009 1:25:31 PM

This year, rather than support a family directly for Christmas, we are supporting the Lighthouse Children's Homes in their efforts to provide Christmas for their children. By filling and returning a quarter book or by making a donation to this cause, you can help provide Christmas for a child who does not have a parent to provide Christmas, or anything else, for them. Contributions need to be in by December 13th. Thank you for your generosity.

Thanksgiving Basket Donations Needed
10/28/2009 5:05:36 PM

This year, like most years, it is our goal to help two families by providing Thanksgiving baskets. Each of these baskets will containg a gift card to cover the price of a turkey and all of the non-perishable items needed for Thanksgiving. It is also our hope to provide more than either family can eat in one day, thereby being a bigger help.

The Church will be purchasing the gift cards, but we need you to contribute canned goods and other non-perishable items. Donation boxes will be set up in the Church Foyer beginning November 1st and will be there through November 22nd, after which the baskets will be assembled and delivered. Please help us in this effort--we literally can't do it without you.

Service Schedule Change
10/9/2009 4:20:20 PM

On September 27, 2009, in a special congregational meeting called by Pastor Doug, the Congregation decided to move prayer meeting from Wednesday evening to Sunday evening and eliminate weekly mid-week services. This change was recommended this change to the church because having an effective prayer meeting is vital to the health of our church; mid-week prayer meeting was not being effective.

It is expected that having prayer meeting on Sunday evening will allow more people to participate. Sunday evening attendance is typically higher than mid-week attendance. And, Sunday evening prayer meeting starts earlier than the mid-week prayer meeting did, making it a better time for families with children.

Forte, our children's program that includes activities, singing, and learning, also moved to Sunday evening, giving parents the opportunity they need to participate.
