“Where there is no vision, the people perish.” (Proverbs 29:18 KJV) Where there is a vision, the people flourish. We need a clear, God-given vision if we are to flourish. We need 2020 vision. Here is the 2020 vision of, and for, our church.
We see a renewed church with a sense of God-given purpose that makes us excited and enthusiastic about our church and what God is doing in, through, and to our church.
We see a growing church that intentionally helps people connect to Jesus Christ through personal and corporate evangelism and service-oriented community outreach.
We see a healthy church that is authentic and helps people connect and share life through true Christian community, living out the first century dream in a twenty-first century reality.
We see a passionate church that pursues excellence in all we do, convinced that God is worthy of our best effort and that excellence honors God and best reflects Him to others.
We see a church that demonstrably believes that the local church is the hope of the world, fervently praying for God’s work in our church, our community, and our world.
We see a church that truly understands that a strong, healthy family is our greatest earthly ally and that children are a blessing from God that we must steward and shepherd, lest they be lost.
We see a church that faithfully models godly ideals while remaining culturally relevant, remembering that God calls us to look like the world but live differently—not to live like the world but look differently.
We see a church that biblically offers structured instruction, training, and mentoring for those who want to know more of God, do more for God, and go further with God.
We see a church that strategically sends its members and its money to further the work of the Gospel in other contexts, both at home and abroad.
We see a church with a new identity: a new name, a new mission, a new vision, and new values.
- It is a church with a clear strategy, and the alignment necessary, to fulfill its mission
- It is a church with a simple structure that provides both stability and accountability while allowing flexibility
- It is a church with detailed procedures, at every level of operation, that provide security and the freedom that comes from serving with clear directions and a clear direction
- It is a church with a living commitment to pursuing efficiency and effectiveness for God over the traditions of men
In Short, we see a church that is renewed, spiritually and operationally, in order to become and remain both godly and relevant. Reflecting God to people—Directing people to God
